Nowra Pilates Centre 2010 Newsletter
Dear Pilates Enthusiasts,
After 22 years, we finally made the big move. The new premises have plenty
of parking and inside toilets, which I am sure everyone appreciates. The
renovation is almost complete; the big jobs done and a lot of little jobs
left to do. However, it will get there eventually! We thank you for your
patience over the transition and hope that you are finding it satisfactory.
We trust that everyone has located the equipment. Short and long poles
are in the red barrel in the northwest corner, but the long poles will
be moved eventually to broom holders on the dividing wall. The Torsons
are on the top shelf of the upper level in front of the stretching mats
and the Foam Rollers have been divided between the upper and lower levels.
The Zen Chi Massager is available again and resides on the southern side
of the box on the upper level. The Elliptical Trainer is also available
and some clients are using it before or after their sessions. Receipts
are located on the dividing wall until we get the extra mirrors. Health
fund letters are next to the handbag/wallet shelves.
A number of clients have small Power Plate programs that address particular
foot, elbow, shoulder or neck problems and this is leading to queues at
the machine. Clients with these programs will be asked to complete them
at appropriate times during their session.
We hope to have a ‘drinks and nibblies’ afternoon one Saturday
in term 3. It will be a belated studio opening, a chance for clients to
meet and have a chat and an opportunity to meet Paul and Maggie Conneely.
Paul is the musculoskeletal physician using the southern room on the upper
level. His phone number is 0410382179.

Elliptical Trainer
The elliptical trainer is free of charge to existing clients. It is suitable
for most clients for aerobic exercise and has easy–to–follow
instructions in a plastic envelope on top of the trainer. You may use
the trainer whenever the studio is open.
Zen Chi Massager – ‘wobble machine’
The Zen Chi massager is free of charge to existing clients. Use it before
or after stretches, but not before your session. Five to ten minutes is
usually sufficient to feel nicely relaxed, but you can do up to 15 minutes.
Don’t forget to lie there till the ‘ticking’ stops.
It may be used any time the studio is open.
Corks
We are still collecting corks for Wollongong Hospital. However, they need
to be real corks and not plastic. Please put your corks in the bag that
is just outside the entrance.
Ring Pulls from Cans
We are still collecting ring pulls from cans (just the ring pull and not
the top of the can). The ring pulls no longer contain titanium, but are
sold for scrap and the money is sent to an orphanage in Cambodia. We have
a jar near the handbag/wallet shelves for the ring pulls.
Lost Property Box
Please have an occasional look in the orange lost property box on the
upper level. It might contain some of your clothing!
Cotton Toe Socks
We have cotton toe socks in some colourful stripes and subdued plains
for sale. They are $15.00 a pair (retail is $17.00). If you want a pair
that is not on the rack, let us know and we can start a list. We need
to order them in bulk to get the reduced price. For summer, they can come
with half toes.
Best wishes for the rest of 2010,
Dorothy, Jennifer, Linda, Kate, Danielle and Pat
